FX and makeup workshops with RJ Haddy

We are excited to again offer workshops with FX Artist (and all around fun guy) RJ Haddy!

RJ Haddy was a season two contestant and fan favorite on SyFy's Face Off.  He is an accomplished professional effects artist whose work includes big budget Hollywood films such as Batman and Robin, There’s Something About Mary, Contact, and Sleepy Hollow.

This year RJ is offering three different Professional Effects Make-up workshops listed below:

Airbrush 101

  • 90 minutes
  • Cost $200(includes $100 in supplies)
  • Hilton 309-310, Thursday, 10am
  • Max 15 seats

Ninety minute class aimed at taking the intimidation out of learning to use an airbrush. RJ Haddy will go over the types of airbrushes, different paints, air compressors & pressure, and work with you to improve your skills. RJ will also teach you how to clean and break down an airbrush to ensure that it lasts. Included in the cost of admission is your own Shadow Airbrush, and a free bottle of paint to get you started.

There is a maximum of fifteen participants, so make sure you reserve your spot now online.

No refunds for the workshop will be granted after August 1st, 2017.

ZOMBIE BITE out of kit FX Workshop

  • 90 minutes
  • Cost $150(includes $50 in supplies)
  • Hilton 309-310, Thursday, 2pm - 3:30pm
  • Max 15 seats

RJ Haddy will teach you how to make very realistic wounds and injury simulations with easily attainable supplies.  The class includes all supplies with enough to get your own FX kit started! Great for beginners and intermediate levels (Those allergic to latex should not take this class.)

There is a maximum of fifteen participants, so make sure you reserve your spot now online.

No refunds for the workshop will be granted after August 1st, 2017.

FOAM FABRICATION

  • 2 hours
  • Cost $150(includes $50 in supplies)
  • Hilton 313-314, Sunday 10am-12pm
  • Max 20 seats

Have you always admired the armored suits in movies that look like they took ten years to create? In this two hour class RJ Haddy will bring enough supplies to show you how to get started working with this very versatile product, to make your own foam fabricated warrior pieces (either a helmet or gauntlet, TBD).  RJ will teach you how to make a pattern, and how to best work with closed cell foams like EVA or L-200.  This course is a MUST for any
beginner-intermediate cos-player looking to up their cosplay game! Supplies are included.

There is a maximum of twenty participants, so make sure you reserve your spot now online.

No refunds for the workshop will be granted after August 1st, 2017.
