Robert Allsopp

Robert Allsopp trained in Theatre Design, graduating in 1986 prior to working as a freelance costume/prop-maker and he now runs his own business in London making specialist costumes and props for theatre, film and television.

Robert’s clients include the Royal Opera House, Royal Ballet, the BBC and many overseas theatre companies including The Metropolitan Opera in New York and Tokyo Opera.

His stage musical credits include The Lion King (London), Wicked (for London, LA, Broadway and Germany), We Will Rock You (London) and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (London).

His film work has been featured in the Ridley Scott films Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Robin Hood, Prometheus, and The Martian. Other film work includes Star Wars - the Phantom Menace, Elizabeth the Golden Age, X Men, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Eragon, The Eagle, Florence Foster Jenkins, and Transformers 5. Robert also provided the spacesuits for both Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds in the space horror movie Life (2017).

His Television work includes contributing to many episodes of Doctor Who, being one of only a handful of people to work on both 'New Who' and 'Classic Who', including work on the 50th Anniversary special. His current television work includes the sci-fi series of films Electric Dreams (based on Philip K. Dick's short stories).

Robert has also provided principal costumes for the film Dredd 3D, Jack the Giant Slayer, 47 Ronin and the sequels to Thor and The 300, Rise of an Empire.

Robert's recent theatre work includes the award winning London stage production Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
